Introducing Daniel Monteiro - Youngest intern at Eventosaur 2017

Introducing Daniel Monteiro

read

I feel like I start off most of these posts lamenting about my age, but what choice do I have? Especially when kids born in 1999 join our team.

Daniel is a super mature millennial though. He’s hungry and loves to learn new things. Despite having grown up outside India, he has an unparalleled curiosity about Indian traditions and events.

A few years ago, TJ, Setu, and I often heard from more senior folks within the ecosystem say they liked interacting with us because we offered a “fresh perspective.” I didn’t understand what they meant back then. Now, I do. The advantage of having people like Rahul and Daniel on the team is that they have a super fresh take on several aspects of the business and help shape the company’s culture.

We’re super glad that Daniel decided to join the team. He’s been working closely with Varsha and me on the content we write for Eventosaur’s Learn section. He’s also picking up some Design skillz from Setu and we’re glad to say he’s getting really good at it.

What drove me to pick Daniel from the slew of applications we get is the fact that he’s a debater and his sheer hunger for learning. We asked him to write about his experience at Eventosaur so far and this is what he had to say. Notice the specific h8 towards me? This is what I deal with on a daily basis from everyone on the team.

I always thought that working with a company/start up wouldn't be so fun and that I'd always have to be serious around everyone. I realized how wrong I was when I met Nikhil and Surabhi for the first time; they were so cool, and they made me feel so comfortable. Everyone is super cheerful and funny (except Nikhil) at Eventosaur.

Working with Eventosaur is amazing. There's no pressure at all, everything is so chill. I've learned a lot here. I have finally discovered something that I might actually want to pursue - Design. Everyone is so helpful, they don't get annoyed by my stupid doubts and questions regarding career options. I've learned quite a bit about UI/UX design, and search engine optimization all thanks to the folks at Eventosaur. I haven't mastered either of the two skills yet, I'm just taking baby steps, but hopefully, working with Eventosaur will help me get there with time.

I'm so glad I decided to look for internships in Bangalore on Quora, I'm so glad that I decided to email a random dude who wrote that he was taking interns at his start up called Eventosaur. A lot of things have changed since then, and they have changed for the best.”

Daniel is the youngest member of team Eventosaur as of now, but I'm sure there will be someone who takes that title away from him soon. To follow our journey and read our upcoming stories and introductions, you can find us on Facebook and Twitter.

Nikhil Jois remains the funniest member of Team Eventosaur despite vehement denial from the others who are jealous of his talent.
